The Illinois Pollution Control Board has incorporated the ISGS publication OFS 2012-1 by reference into the environmental regulations of the State of Illinois, in this case regarding clean construction and demolition debris (CCDD)—Illinois Administrative Code Title 35, Part 1100, Subpart A, Section 1100.104 (see http://www.ipcb.state.il.us/SLR/IPCBandIEPAEnvironmentalRegulations-Title35.asp; scroll down to Part 1100, select the Adobe icon, and see the reference on page 9 of the pdf; ISGS 2012-1 OFS is the third document listed on that page, under IDOT). Incorporation of this reference allows the Preliminary Environmental Site Assessment Manual to be considered an environmental standard for use in determining whether a property has potentially been affected by historical or current practices.

Illinois EPA also references the manual in its discussion of CCDD issues at http://www.epa.state.il.us/land/ccdd/index.html (under QB5 in the FAQs). For further information, contact Anne Erdmann.
