Public Field Trips Draw Large Crowds

C. Pius Weibel led two very successful ISGS Science Field trips to the Mackinaw River watershed on April 18 and May 2, 2009. Each trip had 100 or more participants. Highlights of the trip included driving through a recently built wind farm; stops along the Mackinaw River, including a ford that was traversed by Abraham Lincoln as a member of the 8th Judicial District of Illinois; and visits to two sand and gravel pits.
