Governor Quinn Declares October 14-20, 2012, as Earth Science Week in Illinois
The Illinois State Geological Survey is commemorating Earth Science Week
from
October 14-20, 2012, with a
proclamation from the Illinois Governor and several geological science events.
This year's theme is "Discovering Careers in the Earth Sciences". More information

Earth Science Week 2012 Events
The Earth Science Week activities fit in well with the Survey's mission to
provide the citizens and institutions of Illinois with accurate,
objective earth science research and information relevant to the state's
environmental quality, economic prosperity, and
public safety.
October 17, 2012 - National Fossil Day
Sponsored by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) and the National
Park Service (NPS). More information can be found at

October 19, 2012 - Geologic Map Day
Sponsored by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), the Association of American
