Great Lakes Geologic Mapping Coalition
The Great Lakes Geologic Mapping Coalition (www.greatlakesgeology.org) held its annual Progress and Planning meeting at the I-Hotel and Conference Center on January 10-12, 2012. The Coalition includes the state geological surveys of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and the U.S. Geological Survey. Illinois State Geological Survey geologists Mike Barnhardt and Don Keefer presented an update of three-dimensional geologic mapping efforts in McHenry County, which are being done by Jason Thomason, and in Lake County, which are being done by Steve Brown.
