Major Responsibilities
- Prepare computer-generated maps and data with information regarding mine locations, mined-out areas.
- Updating and maintenance of Coal Section Stratigraphic Database, acquisition of new drill hole and mine data.
- Mine visits and coal mine geology assistance to coal companies and others.
- Coal geology and Stratigraphy.
- Updating of active mine map database in GIS system in coordination with Office of Mines and Minerals.
- Lead team member of OMM contract to keep mine, drill hole and mine geology data current in Coal Section database and the development of new GIS projects with OMM team.
- Handle public requests concerning stratigraphic data in datbase and mine map database.

Current Projects
- Development of 100K County Coal Structure maps for Herrin and Springfield Coals, and 500K state wide Coal Structure Maps for same.
- Updating of new mine boundaries for active mines in the ISGS and OMM GIS database.
- Mine visits and coal mine geology assistance to coal companies and others.
- Acqusition of new drill hole data from companies, development of active mine visit program with team members including data collection and mine geology assistance for coal companies.
- Coal Bed Methane work in GIS system with other section staff.
