Ahmed Ismail has received his Ph.D. in geophysics from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 2003. His research interests are focusing on seismic reflection, ground penetrating radar, electric resistivity and electromagnetic methods and applications related to hydrogeology, archaeology, concrete inspection, dam seepage, bridge scour, sinkholes, landmines, underground utilities, etc. While at the ISGS, Ahmed's ongoing research is focusing on using integrated seismic techniques, (seismic P- and S-waves, active and passive surface waves and downhole seismic), to image the shallow subsurface to depths of up to 500 feet, mostly in support of geological mapping.

Responsibilities

  • Seismic methods including P- and S-wave reflection, MASW and downhole seismic
