Dr. David Ussiri joined the Geochemistry Section on July 11th as an Associate Environmental Geochemist. His background is in soil science and biogeochemistry. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University in New York and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agriculture from Sokoine University in Tanzania. Before joining the ISGS, David was a Research Associate at the Carbon Sequestration and Management Center at The Ohio State University. His research interests include carbon sequestration, soil-atmosphere exchange of trace gases, global carbon and nitrogen cycles, and biogeochemistry of restored ecosystems. He enjoys walking, soccer, and the outdoors.
