Society for Sedimentary Geology Great Lakes Section
The Great Lakes Section of the SEPM (GLS-SEPM) is a not-for-profit educational association affiliated with the national SEPM - Society for Sedimentary Geology. The objectives of this Section are (1) to promote the science of geology in the Great Lakes area of North America through research in sedimentology, sedimentary petrology, and stratigraphy, and (2) to exchange and disseminate information and to share experiences of mutual interest. Section membership is composed of geologists who work, reside, or have research interests in the Great Lakes area. Congratulations Isaac and Henry! Annual Fall field ConferenceThe GLS-SEPM has sponsored and organized an Annual Fall Field Conference since 1971. This conference, usually a two day meeting, combines a field trip with symposium-like presentations. The Section also sponsors symposia each Spring at the annual meeting of the North-Central Section of the Geological Society of America. The Section awards outstanding student presentations at this meeting.
