ISGS Library Services

Public

• Access - The library is open to the public. Unpublished materials and maps are for building use only. Other materials are available through interlibrary loan.
• Reference - We provide answers to quick questions and make referrals; locate articles and other publications; verify and complete citations; conduct literature searches using selected database such as GeoRef, library catalogs and the Internet.
• Interlibrary Loan We provide document delivery through the Lincoln Trails Library System interlibrary loan service.

ISGS Staff Only

In addition to the reference services described above, we provide other specialized services for the Survey researchers and staff.

• Journal Routing - Current journals, newsletters, or their tables of contents are available for routing. Contact us for a list of available titles.
• Research Services - Literature searches are provided on request. Our resources include the online catalogs, electronic databases and the Internet.
• Bibliographic Instruction - Instruction is provided upon request for searching the ISGS on-line catalog, Illinet Online (which includes the University of Illinois Library catalog), GeoRef and other resources available on the Internet.
• Meeting Room - The Map Room is available for small informal meetings.
• Scanner - A scanner is available for ISGS researchers to use.
