Description:
Abstract:
Municipalities with more than 250 people at 1:100,000 statewide. Polygon data. Incorporated areas for all of Illinois. Derived from TIGER/Line Files, July 1991, Bureau of the Census, US Department of Commerce. Nominal scale of 1:100,000.

Purpose:
These data are appropriate for use in local and regional demographic analysis. Attributes include the name, FIPS code and type of municipality. A municipality may be composed of more than one polygon. Boundaries are subject to change and should not be considered definitive.
