Illinois Height Modernization Program: Photogrammetry and LiDAR Services Retainer(s)

Our team collaborated with the Facilities & Services (F&S) office of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) to draft an advertisement to seek up to 2 firms to act as an Enhanced Elevation Data Services Retainer in support of discrete projects to acquire airborne LiDAR data and/or Orthoimagery.

The formal advertisement will be managed according to the UIUC University Office of Capital Programs and Real Estate Services Project Proposals advertisement process, which advertises all projects through the Illinois Public Higher Education Procurement Bulletin. Interested parties can register at that website and receive emails when new projects in their area of interest are posted. For the purposes of our upcoming advertisement, we suggest selecting keywords like: 'LiDAR', 'aerial services', 'aerial mapping', 'remote sensing', 'elevation', and/or 'photogrammetry'. A similar Request for Professional Services Qualifications (QBS) process has been used by our team to competitively select two land surveyor agencies to serve as contract retainers. The UIUC F&S staff members who guided that search have also been assigned to this review team.

QBS #PSSU14R19 was first published on September 6, 2013.

Qualifications and supporting materials were until 4:00 PM, Thursday September 26, 2013.

Our team is currently reviewing all submitted applications; in-person interviews for selected agencies are tentatively scheduled for October 24, 2013.

As part of the overall list of requirements, applicants will need to be Prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) under Special Services in the Aerial Mapping and LiDAR category (see page 20, section H). The current list of IDOT List Prequalified Engineering Consultants is updated weekly. Applicants must also be registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, and in good standing with the State of Illinois.

The advertisement and application process is handled exclusively via the offices and procedures outlined above, as are all inquiries. Thank you for your interest.
