Illinois Association of Groundwater Professionals
— An association comprised of Illinois licensed water well and
pump installation contractors and their employees, state and local
Health Department offcials, manufacturers/suppliers of water well
equipment and services, and leaders of other agencies dedicated to the
utilization and protection of groundwater
Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR)
— Works to secure additional resources to adequately fund relevant
and high-quality research and related outreach programs that lead to
profitable, consumer-sensitive, and environmentally sound food and
agricultural systems in Illinois and the nation.
Illinois Groundwater Association
— Seeks to advance the knowledge of groundwater resources in
Illinois and functions exclusively for charitable and educational
purposes. Any person interested in the groundwater resources of
Illinois is eligible to join.
Illinois Well Sealing Coalition
— Concerned with the health risks of unsealed wells. Provides
information about sealing abandoned wells.
Imperial Valley Water Authority
— Comprises all of Mason County and four townships in Tazewell
County and has the responsibility of regulating water use and
priortizing its uses during times of shortage.
Mahomet Aquifer Consortium
— MAC was formed in 1998 to study the Mahomet aquifer, a sand and gravel aquifer underlying 15 counties in central Illinois.
National Ground Water Association
— The mission of NGWA is to enhance the skills and credibility
of all ground water professionals, develop and exchange industry
knowledge and promote the ground water industry and understanding of
ground water resources. The NGWA has developed a list of ground water
resource materials to help elementary and secondary education
professionals prepare lesson plans on the subject of ground water.
These materials may also be useful to anyone interested in informing
themselves and others about ground water.
National Well Owners Association
— A resource for present and future well owners. Comprises
information about well installation and maintenance including a
listing of well contractors by state.
Springs of Illinois
— This web site provides an overview of an intensive study
focusing on the biodiversity, water quality, and hydrogeology of
springs in Illinois, USA, conducted in three phases from April 1991
through June 1997.
USEPA Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water
— Protects the public health along with states and its partners
by ensuring the availability of safe drinking water. Site includes
current drinking water standards for public supplies.
