Contorted organic layers in closed crevasses, probably on Aktineq Glacier (B17). Organic materials such as algae and animals (e.g., geese, hares) fall into crevasses when they are open and are compressed in closed crevasses in zones of compression down-ice from the zones of extension that create the crevasses.
