Braided drainage on an outwash delta built by meltwater

Location: Bylot Island, Nunavut, Canada
Braided drainage on an outwash delta built by meltwater

Braided drainage on an outwash delta built by meltwater from the lateral drainage of Aktineq Glacier (B17), shown in foreground. The lake is dammed in the distance by outwash spilling from unseen glaciers at head of valley to the left (northeast) side of the lake. View is from about 100 m above Aktineq Glacier, looking southeast in the direction of the drainage, which enters Eclipse Sound in the distance.
