Aerial view of Stagnation Glacier (B28) and Fountain Glacier (B26)

Location: Bylot Island, Nunavut, Canada
Aerial view of Stagnation Glacier (B28) and Fountain Glacier (B26)

View from about 700 m altitude, looking northwest, of Stagnation Glacier (B28; right) and Fountain Glacier (B26; left). The snout of glacier B29, descending from Mt. Thule, can be seen between them. Note the substantial icing (aufeis, naled) extending southeastward toward the camera from the snout of Fountain Glacier and the contrasting amounts of retreat between Fountain (none), B29 (some) and Stagnation (over 1 km) from their neoglacial positions. See images 0143 and 0146 for further discussions.
